
CM Yogi has given instructions to improve crowd management and communication systems in the Maha Kumbh Mela area for the upcoming Republic Day, Makar Sankranti, and Vasant Panchami. He emphasized that strong security arrangements are necessary during the Amrit Snan on Makar Sankranti and Vasant Panchami.
For crowd management, he instructed that the pontoon bridge be made one-way on these special days. The Chief Minister also directed that the entire Mela area be declared a “No Vehicle Zone” on Makar Sankranti and Vasant Panchami.
Additionally, CM Yogi directed all officials to ensure that the faith of the devotees is fully respected. He urged that anyone in need of assistance should receive help from the personnel involved in the arrangements.
Instructions regarding visits from PM, President, and Vice President:
On Sunday, CM Yogi visited the Mela area and then held a meeting with officials to provide necessary directions for the upcoming arrangements. He mentioned that dignitaries such as the President, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Home Minister are expected to visit Prayagraj in the coming days. On January 22, the state cabinet meeting will also be held here. He emphasized that all necessary preparations should be made on time.
Over 7 crore people have already bathed:
During the meeting at the ICCC hall, CM Yogi stated that approximately 1.5 crore devotees are currently present in the Mela area. Over 7 crore people have already received the blessings of the Triveni Snan. The CM added that during Poush Purnima and Makar Sankranti, a large crowd of devotees gathered, and it was gratifying that every visitor left satisfied.
An estimate of 8-10 crore people for Makar Sankranti:
On the occasion of Makar Sankranti, an estimated 8-10 crore people are expected to visit. A large number of people are also expected for Republic Day. Considering this, robust arrangements should be made for the convenience and safety of the people.
Instructions for essential services:
The CM emphasized that preparations must be made for electricity and drinking water supply, cleanliness and maintenance of toilets, maintenance of pontoon bridges, and crowd movement strategies. He also mentioned that there should be constant public awareness campaigns regarding traffic management and vehicle parking.
