After the accident at the Sangam on the night of Mouni Amavasya during the Maha Kumbh, an elderly man from Sagar, Madhya Pradesh has been missing. For six days, his son has been searching for him. The son has been going from mortuary to hospital for six days.
“Six days have passed searching for my father. I don’t know if he is alive or dead, and there is no one to tell me. The police are sending me to the hospital, and the doctors to the mortuary. Till now, there is no trace of my father. Where should I go? What should I do?”

Sobbing uncontrollably, Ashok Patel, a resident of Sagar in Madhya Pradesh, said this. He is one of the people who has not been able to rest even for a moment since Mouni Amavasya. Since the night of the accident, he has been going in circles between the hospital and the mortuary in search of his father for seven days. With each passing day, as hope of finding his father fades, his own strength is also dwindling. Yet, he continues searching day and night, holding on to the remaining bit of hope.
“People who went with him have returned, but my father hasn’t,” Ashok said. Ashok is originally from Gunjora village in Sagar district, Madhya Pradesh. His 60-year-old father, Tiji Patel, had gone to the Sangam for a bath on Mouni Amavasya with 10-15 people from the village. Ashok recalls that the next day, the people who had gone with his father returned, but his father didn’t. When inquired, they said he had gone missing after the accident at Sangam on the night of Mouni Amavasya.
“We searched everywhere but couldn’t find any trace of him,” Ashok continued. After this, he, along with a relative, came here to search for his father. Six days have passed, but there is still no information. Ashok says he doesn’t want anything, he just wants his father to be found safe and sound. He pleads with the government and administration to help in finding his father.
